Community & Content Guidelines
The minimum rules for sharing memories, family material, public content, identities, and collaborations on ForEverAfter.
Effective September 4, 2026
1. Preserve people without exploiting them
ForEverAfter exists to preserve human stories, not to create permission to use another person's identity however you want. Family relationship, friendship, romantic relationship, employment, possession of media, or access to an old account does not automatically give you every privacy, publicity, copyright, or identity right associated with another person.
2. Do not upload or share
- Child sexual abuse material, sexual content involving minors, grooming material, or exploitative sexual depictions of minors.
- Nonconsensual intimate images, sexual deepfakes, revenge pornography, or private sexual material shared without authority.
- Threats, stalking, harassment, extortion, blackmail, doxxing, or unlawful surveillance.
- Malware, credential theft, exploit code, or material intended to defeat access controls or disrupt the Service.
- Content used to impersonate another person deceptively, commit fraud, or falsely claim legal authority.
- Content you do not have the right to use in the manner you selected.
- Knowingly unlawful publication of another person's private information, identity data, or protected records.
- Other material whose hosting or distribution is illegal.
3. Public allegations and sensitive family facts
Use care when publishing criminal accusations, abuse allegations, medical information, paternity or adoption claims, financial information, intimate details, precise addresses, or other sensitive facts about living people. Label recollections as recollections where appropriate and distinguish personal memory from verified documentary fact.
The fact that information is part of a family story does not eliminate another person's privacy, defamation, publicity, or safety rights.
4. Different memories can coexist
ForEverAfter does not expect families to agree on every event. Multiple attributed memories or perspectives may coexist. We generally do not remove a lawful memory merely because another family member remembers the event differently, but we may act when a rights, safety, impersonation, or legal issue is credibly raised.
5. Minors
Independent accounts are for adults 18 and older. Adults may preserve appropriate family memories involving children when they have lawful authority, but avoid unnecessary public location information, exploitative content, intimate information, or other material that creates unreasonable risk for a child.
ForEverAfter may apply stricter controls to public, biometric, identity-modeling, or synthetic uses involving minors if those features are introduced.
6. Identity and memorial integrity
Do not create deceptive duplicate profiles, claim another person's identity, falsify a death, forge a handoff credential, misrepresent a family relationship for access, or falsely claim to be an executor, heir, Legacy Contact, Branch Custodian, rights holder, or authorized representative.
7. Enforcement
We may remove, restrict, quarantine, de-index, label, or disable content or features that violate these Guidelines, the Terms, law, or another person's enforceable rights. We may suspend accounts for serious or repeated violations.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, we may notify the affected user and allow additional information or an appeal. We may preserve records needed for security, legal process, fraud prevention, or a dispute even when public access is removed.
8. Reporting
Use the Legal Contact page and choose the category that best fits the concern. Copyright complaints should use Copyright / Rights; threats to account security should use Security; identity or memorial disputes should use Memorial / Identity.
