Copyright & Rights Policy
How to report copyright, likeness, privacy, impersonation, and related rights concerns involving content hosted on ForEverAfter.
Effective September 4, 2026
1. User content and ownership
Users retain ownership of original content they lawfully own. ForEverAfter does not obtain copyright ownership merely because material is uploaded. Rights belonging to another photographer, writer, performer, publisher, estate, family member, or other rights holder remain with that rights holder.
Users must have the rights and permissions needed for the way they preserve, publish, share, or otherwise use content.
2. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on ForEverAfter infringes your copyright, submit a Copyright / Rights request through the Legal Contact page. Identify the copyrighted work, the material you believe infringes it, where the material appears, your contact information, and enough information for us to evaluate and respond to the complaint.
Please state that you have a good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or law, and that the information in your notice is accurate. If you are acting for the owner, identify your authority.
3. Takedown handling
ForEverAfter may remove or disable access to material when we receive a credible or legally sufficient infringement notice. We may notify the affected user where appropriate and legally permitted. Removal does not determine who ultimately owns the copyright or whether a use is fair use; those questions can require facts and legal analysis outside the Service.
4. Counter-notices
If your material was removed because of a copyright complaint and you believe the removal resulted from mistake or misidentification, use the Legal Contact page to request the applicable counter-notice process. We may require the information and statements required by applicable law before restoring content.
5. Repeat infringement
ForEverAfter may suspend or terminate users who repeatedly infringe copyright or repeatedly misuse the rights-reporting process, taking account of the circumstances and applicable law.
6. Likeness, voice, privacy, and impersonation
Copyright is not the only right that can apply to a family archive. If your concern involves your name, image, likeness, voice, private communications, identity, publicity rights, impersonation, or another privacy or personality right, submit a Copyright / Rights or Privacy request and explain the right you believe is affected.
Possession of a recording or photograph does not necessarily establish the right to commercially exploit or synthetically reproduce the represented person's identity.
7. DMCA designated-agent status
ForEverAfter is building its notice-and-takedown process for user-hosted content. Formal Digital Millennium Copyright Act designated-agent information will be published after ForeverAfter Technologies LLC completes the required designation with the U.S. Copyright Office and has an appropriate public business address for that filing.
Until that designation is completed, this page does not represent that ForEverAfter has completed every requirement necessary to claim a Section 512 safe harbor. Copyright complaints may still be submitted through the Legal Contact page and will be reviewed.
8. False or abusive notices
Do not knowingly make material misrepresentations in a copyright or rights complaint. A rights-reporting process may not be used to harass another user, erase lawful criticism, fabricate ownership, or gain family-tree control.
